How we get the personal information and why we have it
Most of the personal information we process is provided to us directly by you for one of the following reasons:
To process and maintain prospective and current memberships and digital user accounts
To keep you informed of our activities and campaigns through our mailing lists
To process donations and sales via our website
To process campaign activities (ie: Write To Your MP)
To monitor our website traffic
To process event bookings via our website
When you use internal Member features such as WRN Forum
We may share this information with our payment providers (in the event of a payment dispute) HMRC or the Police where we are legally required to do so.
Under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), there is a legitimate interest for processing this information in order to:
meet our aims
keep our membership updated on the latest news and campaigns
encourage and retain membership
ensure prospective and current members meet the conditions of membership
process donations and other financial transactions.
How we store your personal information
Your information is securely stored.
We retain your application/membership personal information for 2 years from date of your leaving WRN. We will then dispose your information securely. Information relating to financial transactions is retained for 6 years.
Retention of personal information
We will retain and use your Personal Information for the period necessary to comply with our legal obligations, to enforce our agreements, resolve disputes, and unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law. We will then dispose your information by manually deleting the data from our databases.

Your right to rectification - You have the right to ask us to rectify personal information you think is inaccurate. You also have the right to ask us to complete information you think is incomplete.

You are not required to pay any charge for exercising your rights. If you make a request, we have one month to respond to you.
